i know its not all about practicality.

おもろい。予想以上に。最初の方ちょっと展開速すぎるなー、とも思いましたが、えぇ～、そんな展開なのー？な感じがよかった。Hancockの、大義名分もクソもない、たまたま持ってるスーパーパワーの雑すぎる使い方がおかしくて笑える。

▼最近の交友関係がなかなか面白い。

7月中旬Yukaのfarewell partyでDanielと出会い。Danielに誘われたホームパーティーでMeritに出会う。Meritとの間に共通の友人Tomoがいることがわかり、翌週Merit他同じTomoの友人Hyogo, Tomokoとビールを飲む。後日Hyogoの友人Dennisに誘われた先でRyo, Kin, Dennis, Jeff, Masashi, Eugene, Rino, etc.に出会う。

Rino他2人の看護士が、この前まで親父の入院していた病院でお世話してくれてた子だということがわかって、びっくり。つーかマジで驚きました。親父は看護士の間でだいぶ人気者だったようで、「よろしくー。」と。土曜日親父に会いに行って写真を見せると、「憶えてない。」...おぉいっ。次会ったときに話が膨らまないじゃないか。

▼so, how interesting the circle of friends i hang out with lately is, is that most of them are either partially japanese or born japanese but raised overseas (or the other way around): Daniel's a korean who was raised in the states that works in japan learning to speak japanese, Merit's a chinese with a japanese bloodline somewhere in there who lived in the states and speaks all three languages perfectly, Hyogo's a pure japanese who lived most of his life in the states, Dennis is a good looking hybrid of a japanese and a german, Kin is a 4th generation japanese-american, Eugene's a japanese who totally looks like an american that speaks probably the most fluent japanese among us... so forth.

its interesting how quickly and easily you can get along with people with similar backgrounds (obvious, actually); survivors of the similar identity crises, so to speak. yeah we're those adults who stiil cant really decide who we are, hehe.

必然的に会話が英語と日本語のチャンポンになり、居酒屋で隣りのテーブルとかになると典型的なウザったい連中の集まりになってしまうわけなんですが、i have to admit, its the most comfortable way for me, and perhaps for all of us to really communicate...

ever since i was a kid, i've always loved languages and dialects. i've loved them for the reason that theyre the tools to communicate. 「言語の崩壊」とよく言いますが、言語をただ漠然と他者への伝達手段として考えたとき、我々半端モノには、合わせ技の方が自分が本当に伝えたいことを伝えやすかったりする。

一方的に伝えるだけじゃcommunicateしたことにならないから、当然場所と相手をわきまえますが。

そういう意味じゃブログって都合いい。

わきまえる必要が全然ない（笑）。
